Mill Creek Rehabilitation

Client:

Town of Orangeville

Scope:

The Mill Creek project involved the restoration of approximately 1km creek and the installation of wetlands, log structures, riffles, armourstone walls and other habitat features through Orangeville.

Because this creek ran very near the major downtown street, Broadway, work was always passing close to private back yards and many sensitive areas.

With an overall graded slope of almost 3%, this stream presented challenges in terms of ensuring stability with its aggressive slope, but erosion control measures and creek design techniques were used to create a durable, lasting stream.

Access to this project was very difficult and the project was completed with minimal disturbance thanks to our use of the proper equipment for tight spaces and skilled operators on staff.
