Scope: 

This project which consisted of a complete retrofit of the Pioneer Park stormwater management pond including the construction of a by-pass channel, de-watering and cleaning out the existing pond, installing five concrete water control structures complete with sluice gates and stop logos, installing oil/grit separators, pathways, bio-engineering and plantings.

 

Awards:

The project won the Federation of Canadian Municipalities National Watershed Award 2010 for leadership in Climate Change Adaptation by Reducing Flood and Water Damage Vulnerability, and the Ontario Public Works Association 2010 Technical Innovation Award.
